Computer games. Do you hate them or do you love them? Well, this topic has been discussed more and more in today’s society with opinions different from one another. Why is this? Let’s find out.

First of all, there has been a raise in the number of teenagers playing computer games, as nowadays mostly everyone has a computer at their home. Some say that they are spending way too much time playing, forgetting about what’s important and they are missing the true experiences they should have at their age. Others think that they may even become violent, trying to reproduce in real life what’s in the specific games. But some have completely different opinions about it, saying that these games actually have a range of benefits in one’s life, abilities like creativity, coping with stressful situations or even learning a foreign language easier.

Secondly, people have been arguing whether or not are computer games a waste of money. Some say that these games are way too expensive, thinking of better ways of spending that money, such as books or other learning material. But let’s be honest, after spending so much time at classes and doing homework, children feel like needing a release and have some good time, so why not let them enjoy some good computer games from which they may also learn something good?

In my opinion, computer games aren’t a waste of time and money as long as you don’t spend too much on them and make time for other activities. What do you think?

PROPOSAL
Introduction
The survey conducted among students identified a number of problems with language teaching in the college, causing not so good overall results in exams. The purpose of this proposal is to present those problems and give recommendations to solve them.
Main issues identified
One of the main issues identified with language learning is motivation. Most students don’t have the opportunity to practice what they learn with someone else as many don’t even speak it outside the classroom. Another issue is regarded to the teaching ways. Students find the ways of teaching old fashioned because of the use of old books and lack of modern technology involved.
Recommendations
  • Speaking more in the foreign language and encouraging students to talk to each other using it, as it is the most efficient way of practicing a language.
  • Modernizing the complete learning experience by bringing special equipment, such as interactive videos or games to bring more fun in studying, rather than the usual exercises found in books.
  • Bringing natives or organizing trips abroad from time to time to improve students’ skills in talking and understanding the language.
Conclusion
These recommendations need to be taken into consideration by the management of the college. In my opinion, they would improve without any doubt the current situation.

FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY
Nowadays, studying abroad has become a trend. Whether because of the better conditions found in other countries or simply for a change, many people decide to leave their homes dreaming of a great future. But is it always the best choice?

Leaving your home country for studying abroad requires a lot of courage. Most people don’t realize this and get homesick a month or two later after leaving. This can have drastic consequences, making studying seem extremely hard with results way lower than the expectations. Also, studying abroad requires spending more money, whether it’s about a place to live in or the learning institution itself.

But there are good points as well. Studying in a foreign country will certainly give you an experience you won’t soon forget. It will improve your language skills and the ability of coping with stressful situations. Needless to say that you’ll get to know other cultures and traditions and sharing your own with other people.

Overall, studying abroad might look like a big step to take, but I think there are more good points than bad ones. It is something everyone should be doing at least once in their lifetime.

Happiness is a state of mind!

The common goal everyone hopes to achieve during his or her lifetime is happiness. Well, this is not only a state of being, it is a mentality. You have to take in consideration all the things which life has given you and to transform it in a way that benefits you.
1. The source of happiness

Generally, people make the big mistake of looking for happiness in worthless things. Every person finds happiness in what, where and how he or she likes, even if that things are meaningless to others. There is no rules and no guide that will tell you how to live a happy life from the beginning to the end.

2. The real key for happiness

The most important thing that you have to do to make sure that you will live a happy life no matter what will happen is to surround yourself with people whom you love and love you in return. You have to appreciate with all your heart those who helps you to find the best in you and run from those who are bringing you down.

2. Proposal - The ideal workplace

Introduction

Since we were little we dreamed at the ideal job and with this came in our mind also the workplace and it should be. Because nowadays more and more people complain about their workplace we decide to write a proposal for an ideal workplace, so that will be in everyone’s liking.

Background information

As we all know, there are two kinds of people in this world. Them who can work only if it is a quiet place where they don’t be disturbed by the conversations of other people and them who prefer to work in team, to take decisions helped by others. Also, people should feel comfortable and not have concerns over issues such as meal breaks.

Suggestions

An ideal workplace should have the following features:
1.There should be a free decision if you want to work in team or alone.
2.To make the people feel motivated, there should be a team spirit.
3.People should work in a quiet environment so that they can be focused on their jobs.
4.A kitchen is the best solution for employees to eat in good conditions.
5.There should be possible for people to have food at any time, not to be limited and the lunch break.
6.People should have more than one break.

Conclusion

Everything that needs to happen to transform the dream in reality is to follow all these steps.

Happiness is a state of mind!

We, as human beings, have a very vague definition of happiness. It is considered to be more of a feeling than a state of mind, and it’s sources are of varied natures. But how can they be sure? We can either find joy in a certain moment, as the result of a small gesture or the happy outcome of a tough situation, or it could be simply the freedom and peace of mind we find in a special place or with a special person. Although it is said that true happiness is impossible to achieve and that happiness could not even exist if not alternating with sadness, each of us find ourselves at peace for wholly different motives.

Are you a happy person? Before you can answer this question, there are other things you should consider about youself. Are you satisfied with your current life standard? Family status? Can you confide and trust in the people surrounding you? Is there anything along the course of the years you still regret doing? Or maybe not doing? Do you feel like you are living your life to the fullest? If you can confidently answer positively to all these questions, it means you consider yourself a happy person. If you consider yourself a happy person, that is bound to be true. If not, strive to be. Forgive, forget, make amends, move forward.

If you can forgive yourself, no matter your past, no matter your baggage, you can still find happiness. Create it. Because you can only be happy if you believe you are. Nobody can make you happier than you yourself. Because, after all, it is a state of mind.

2. PROPOSAL

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this proposal is to address the issues one can find in a regular workplace and offering an alternative regarding the proper conditions of an employee.

GENERAL OPPINIONS

In order for full potential and best outcome to be achieved, certain key points must be met: concentration, motivation, resting time in order for one to recharge their batteries. While team-work and collaboration is important, one still has a need for personal space. Persistent phone-ringing and conversations on the background tend to ruin one’s ability to concentrate on the task at hand. Also, continuous work, with short or no break at all, for long exhausting hours, diminishes one’s motivation to keep up the good work and thus lower results.

WHAT CAN WE DO

Firstly, make better use of office space. Arrange individual desks, separated if possible, and establish certain rules such as phones having to be on silent at all times and conversation be minimal and at a low volume. Give the employees the leisure to schedule their own lunch (however having a permissive time limit) and leave the office at a reasonable hour.

CONCLUSION

By raising awareness to the employees’ needs, we get one step closer to the ideal work-place. However surreal it may sound, maximum results and efficiency can only be met if the employees are happy with their working conditions.

3. FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY – STUDYING ABROAD

It has become a trend for the past decade for students to consider studying abroad. Be it an effect of globalization or the degrading economical, political, financial situation our country finds itself in, it has come to be a natural and obvious option to think about when deciding the path you are willing to take in your life.

Therefore, more and more of the students who prove great academic potential and passion on their field of interest choose to continue their studies abroad, obtain a world-wide recognized diploma and find a promising job with good financial income. Everyone’s purpose is to lead a good, stable life and not have to worry for what might happen the next day, goal which can, however, not be reached in our country at the current time or, I am afraid, anywhere in the near future.

On the other hand, leaving for a foreign place does have its downfalls. This affects more the familial life, seeing as moving away for good implies permanent separation from parents, siblings and other family members, unless one has the financial possibilities and the will of said family members to move away with them. It is always hard to make such a change, for many aspects ought to be taken into consideration and the outcome is not always worth the sacrifices. After all, no matter where you go in this world, you will always be seen as an outsider, as there is no place that will make you will feel more welcome than your own country, with your own people, language and customs.

In the end, I believe that everyone has a place of their own in this world and such decisions need to be given enough thought before being taken, in order to avoid ulterior regrets. Moving away and waking up alone in an unfamiliar place is not meant for everyone and should, therefore, not be taken lightly. One might as well find a peaceful existence here as anywhere else. First know what you want before you decide how to get there.

4. REPORT

INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this report is to present a possible timetable for the World Awareness Day event based on suggestions made by students, which can, of course, be altered on further notice should anything interfere.

SURVEY RESULTS

In order to gather various suggestions from our fellow students, we made a questionnaire. If the general interest in this event was not very high at first, it grew exponentially once the ideas started flowing. Therefore, we have collected some pretty entertaining propositions for the activities of the day as well as ideas concerning the improvement of the school in general:
  • Films and lectures about endangered animals with the purpose of making people see the issues
  • Sponsored clean-up of the school to raise awareness about the amount of rubbish around
  • Fines for litter – money used for recycling bins in school
  • Sport activities (e.g.: football game)
  • Bringing friends from outside the school in order to spread the message
  • Having a special healthy lunch with fruits and vegetables (no meat)

RECOMMENDATIONS

We can organize it as an open entrance for students all around the city and spread the news to gain a bigger audience. We shall put recycling bins all around the school and the students will have to respect the rules unless they want to pay a fine. This settled, the official program could follow this plan:
  • 09:00-11:00 Movie time about animal protection issues
  • 11:00-11:30 Discussing the movie
  • 11:30-12:30 Green lunch with only fruits and vegetables (maybe seafood)
  • 12:30-13:00 Break and preparing for sport activities
  • 13:00-15:00 Organized sport activities
  • 15:00-16:00 Break
  • 16:00-18:00 Sponsored clean-up of the school (obligatory participation for the whole student body)

CONCLUSION

Overall, I believe the event will turn out just fine if we follow the timetable and I thought planning any further details will not prove useful, if anything it will be in our way. A little improvisation is never a bad thing and the most important part is that the students should feel good. If we only keep in mind the purpose of World Awareness Day and together with the enthusiasm the students are proving, we can make this event as successful as it can be.

ARTICLE
The computer games industry has grown a lot during the last decade. More and more people are entering this area of spending their time playing on computers, preferring it to the traditional chess, card games or board games. Many people argue that it is a complete waste of time and money. But is this really the case?

If you ask a teenager, someone who plays video games on a regular basis, will tell you about the benefits given by the games and how they are actually helping our minds to develop better. Partially, what he or she is saying is actually right. Strategy or action games can improve reflexes and decision making and can help you learn how to deal with stressful situations. But other ones may not have any benefits or even impact the player’s life in a negative way. In the end, it really depends on what game you are playing.

Talking of the bad points, they might be expensive and take a lot of your time. Many people seem to believe that you could buy more important things with those financial resources and spend that time to improve yourself, but I think this has been taken a little too far. People usually play videogames in their spare time, as many find them one of the best ways to relax and set themselves free from the thoughts of the real world, similar to watching a movie or reading a book. Also, speaking of the money, gamers usually save for their playing material and are careful not to spend too much on them. But of course, there are other people who do the opposite, which indeed is not something right to do.

In my opinion, computer games aren’t a waste of time and money as long as you keep enough time for work and the important things of your life and don’t use all of your funds on them.

PROPOSAL
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this proposal is to address the issues had by many people with their workplace.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Concentration is vital in any working institution. In order to achieve great results and be productive, the workers not only need their personal space, but also a noiseless environment. People talking on the phone or loudly to each other can cause distraction, resulting in a discomfort for the people trying to focus on their job.

SUGGESTIONS FOR THE IDEAL WORKPLACE OF THE FUTURE
In order to have an ideal workplace, some key features should be added, such as: better organized offices, with desks arranges as everyone has their own personal space; rules regarding the noise, telling the people to keep their phones on silent and have their personal conversations outside the working room to avoid disturbing the others; a place for making yourself a coffee or some other hot drink in order to enhance the productiveness and last, but not the least, having someone take care of the trash and keep an overall cleanliness with a fresh air.

CONCLUSION
The ideal workplace is not something unachievable. It can easily become reality if the points highlighted above are taken into consideration.

REPORT
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this report is to assess the suggestions made by students for the special event: the World Awareness Day and give recommendations helping the organization of the day.

SURVEY RESULTS
Opinions and recommendations were collected from a lot of students from our school. Some of them supported the event, but others didn’t, as they thought it’s a complete waste of time. Many of those supporting the event thought that lectures would be the most efficient way of spreading the information, addressing the people directly in a friendly way. Also, watching interesting films related to the topic, but not too long as people may find them boring. One of the most popular ideas is bringing recycling bins to every school as it is one of the best ways of reducing pollution and protecting the nature.
RECOMMANDATIONS FOR THE DAY
The whole day should be full of interactive events people would find enjoyable for making them remember and think about what they have learned. The people with experience in the domain should be brought, such as scientists to make people realize the importance of nature and all the life around us.

CONCLUSION
With the points highlighted above, the World Awareness Day would certainly and without any doubt make the people aware about what is really important about saving our planet.

ESSAY
School uniforms are not really liked nowadays, especially in the country where I live in. Most of the students even hate them, seeing them as something really unpleasant to wear. The question is, are they necessary?
The idea of uniform in the schools of my country is something basic, or even nothing at all but the requirement to wear jeans with a white shirt. This is seen by most students as very boring, being forced to wear the same outfit as everyone else. Teachers believe they are important so they could be seen by everyone as students, even if they might not look good at all. By forcing them to wear these uniforms and punishing students if they aren’t doing so may bring only hate towards the school, troubling their studies.
The thing is, they actually could be something very good. If each school would have each own uniform, not too sophisticated, but significant, with marks from the specific school, it would be much more pleasant to wear one. Students would definitely be more delighted to be seen as studying at the school where they are rather than be seen as an ordinary student. For example, a simple tie with the symbol of the school would be great for representation of the institution not only during the classes but also in other places.
In my opinion, school uniforms would be a great opportunity to represent a school if it would be made well, rather than wearing something basic just to identify yourself as a student.

Happiness is a state of mind

We are all supposed to know where we find support after having a bad day, aren't we? All of us should know what makes us smile and if it doesn't happen, I hope you will manage to discover after reading my article.

I am sure you will agree with me when I say that happiness is a state of mind and we are the only one who decide it, because you either choose seeing half empty spot in your glass and being sad or being thankful for the water in it. It seems to me the problem reduces only your perspective on it which is 100% your choice of perceiving as an optimistic or pessimistic.

Let's do an exercise: close your eyes, take a deep breath and think about last time you enjoyed something truly, madly and deeply. Second step concentrate on the external factors which had brought you there and the circumstances. After that, note key-words on a piece of paper and stick it somewhere you could see it very often. Now you are able to neutralize negative effects and doing something which stimulates your hormone of happiness to produce endorphin.

After all, I believe only simple things, such as a barefoot on the fresh grass, chirping of a bird, a flower in bloom, a fluttering wing of a butterfly and a smile of your dearest people in your life have the power to help you reach happiness.

Introduction

The purpose of this report was to present the most suitable program for our event called “World Awarness Day”.

Current situation

I interviewed several students and I found out they are looking forward to take place this special day in our school.

Strategy for a successful ''World Awarness Day''

A significant proportion of those surveyed said that they are especially interested in rescuing a far-away animal. This fact made me thought about collecting founds for a worried soul. But I've also met a small number, who didn't know anything about animals in danger.

Firstly, I stand for the idea of showing films that reveals animals endangered just for coming this problem up.

Secondly, the aim of watching a film is also for relaxing after hard lessons and it fits before lunch and during meal time. The money we are going to receive will be used for creating a place for endangered animals which have lost their habitat due to global warming and deforestation.

Conclusion

I would recommend, therefore, the possibility of bringing friends from outside of school in order to spread our initiative through the whole area for a greater success.

3.Proposal

In this proposal, I will describe the ideal workplace of the future.

Following a survey among Internet, I've identified next problems: people who don't want to get distracted by others, don't stand for being obsessed with a rough schedule and the dream job. This should be mixed with a hobby or something done with pleasure.

My recommendations regarding this issue are based on questionnaire made in the school.

Firstly, ideal workplace's atmosphere should be peaceful and the spot must remember of your home. To avoid arguing between colleagues or any kind of other conflicts everyone should enjoy his/her corner decorated with personal objects such as pictures of your dearest people and displayed on a big surface to not make the employee feel hostage in a cage. Anywhere in the building should be heard as a background noise relaxing Japanese music (a waterfall or a bird chirping). To complete the landscape, plants and flowers are added on the top of the building, like a high garden and the pause could be spent there also the cafeteria finds. The last issue that needed to get fixed was the established lunch time, which should be more flexible. For example, employees workers might be asked what time would they like to enjoy lunch and they could spend it anyhow.

If these suggestions are implemented, I believe the result would be definitely a dream job everyone enjoys.

4.For and Against Essay

Some people claim that uniforms should be worn in school, while some are against the statement.

While it is true that a uniform establishes equality among students looking the same, it may not be quite fair to restrict other way of expressing their personalities.

On one hand, clothes may divide the society, because it says something about your social status. Especially kids or teenagers perceive this difference and might feel excluded due to the fact they can't afford clothes from famous brands. In childhood, the self-trust can be easily destroyed because of believing every word said by the people around.

However, there is a small difference between expensive and ordinary clothes, which is usually made by the logo of a particular brand that doesn't worth.

Moreover, wearing an uniform, means you are learning in a particular school and it might reveal a pride.

On the other hand, being enable of distinguish at gymnasium or high-school age may materialise in a frustrating feeling, because you would think nothing differs you by your mates, while you know deep down in your soul who you are. So your opinion about yourself doesn't fit with appearances and you became muddled in a hard period of your life.

Taking everything into consideration, school uniforms would help children learning to follow the rules and protect their innocence regarding differences of social statue, which they will need to face up later.

Are computer games a complete waste of time and money?

Ever since computer games have taken off, many people, including teachers and parents, have asked themselves about the consequences of playing these games. While some believe that video games cause addiction- which results in players wasting their time and money on them-, others think that they can help develop the player’s mind. I am inclined to believe that this type of games doesn’t have a negative impact, as long as the common sense is involved when playing.

First of all, studies have shown that the section of our brain which focuses on learning is closely connected to the section that is active when someone plays a game. In other words, children can learn through playing games. As a result, people have decided to make educational computer games. With their special aid, children can have a funnier and more attractive approach of their school subjects. They can be useful in learning Maths, Biology, Music, Science, Literature, languages and others.

In addition, computer games often help us to develop certain skills such as assertiveness and agility, which are components of action or adventure games. Puzzle games can help improve our memory, attention, flexibility, speed of processing, and problem solving.

In conclusion, as a teenager and a future Math teacher, I believe that games are a key to the school of the future. Throughout the games, learning would be much funnier, easier and more attractive for a child. If they are used with moderation and constant adult supervision, they can only have a positive effect.

2) Proposal

Introduction

Plenty of people know that usually, a workplace has certain flaws or problems. Recently, my classmates and I were assigned the task of writing a resolution for the ideal workplace of the future. In preparation for this assignment, we analyzed a survey and undertook research on the Internet.

Statement of problem

It is a well-known fact that people dislike excessive noise, especially when they are working in an office, where they should be able to communicate without interruptions. That is why some prefer working in a quiet place. On contrary, other people enjoy being in the presence of others, since the idea of being part of a team motivates them.

Additionally, some believe that offices can be too small, which makes them feel shut in, whereas others might get concerned by the notion of lunch breaks.

Suggestions for the ideal workplace of the future

An ideal workplace should have the following traits:

*It should be tide, bright and naturally-lit if possible, and have spaces between the workers, so that they can feel comfortable.

*There should be a sense of freedom, by allowing people to move around, and indulging them to eat and drink and any time, as long as they are tidy and keep up with the others.

*Workers should have a sense of team spirit.

Conclusion

An ideal workplace is something achievable- as long as the ideas above are taken into consideration.

3) For against essay

School uniforms

For decades, there has been a continuous debate on the subject of school uniforms. Some parents and students have shown their dismay towards the enforcement of school uniforms, claiming that uniforms prevent others from expressing themselves. Conversely, school uniforms are becoming a popular trend amongst schools.
Firstly, uniforms limit what the students have to choose to wear to school every day. Since some students like to treat school as a fashion show, eliminating that puts their full focus on schoolwork. In addition, pupils can still express their style of choice by the way he/she styles their hair and what accessories they choose to wear.Outside of school, kids can wear and express themselves any way they want. Furthermore, requiring school uniforms eliminates the chances of bullying. Bullies usually pick on kids based on what they wear. Witheveryone being dressed the same, there is less risk to get picked on.
On the other hand, kids are very specific about what they are comfortable wearing. Some kids are sensitive to certain materials while others are opposed to buttons, zippers, and restrictive clothing. Some children might feel uncomfortable wearing certain styles of clothing. Many girls, for example, do not like to wear skirts or dresses, which most girls' uniforms require. As a result, no uniform can suit all children.
Another disadvantage of uniforms is that it is costly to buy them at once.
To sum up, it is apparent from the above points that school uniforms are useful, as long as people are willing to take the risks involved.

4)Report

To: Mr. Mark Blackburn, principal of Riveting Cross High-School
Subject: World Awareness Day

Introduction

Regarding your request to forward a plan of running the World Awareness Day event in our school, based on the questionnaire completed by our students in the last few days, I hereby present the sketched schedule of the project:

Day 1:
Presentation of globalization- in a historical, demographic, economical and cultural approach- and its effects (Pros and Cons).

Day 2
Historical approach of globalization: Due to the evolution of the transportation means, what was a dream for old Greeks and Romans, a challenge for the late Middle Age, turned to be an opportunity and a burden for the modern world. Presenting the Greek legends, Marco Polo’s journey, Sinbad the Sailor’s legend, Columbus and Magellan ‘s travels and up to modern airlines.

Day 3
Demographic approach of globalization: modern world is facing labor migration (millions of people work for a certain period of time far away from their home, even in foreign countries), refugees (wars, plagues, religious or political persecutions in one part of the world can push a wave of refugees to seek haven to remote parts of the globe) and even migrations (millions of people migrate from East to West and from Southern countries to the Northern ones, looking for a better life).

Day 4
Economic and environmental approach: most of the goods we buy today are manufactured in a far-off country. This state has a major impact on prices, the rate of employment and the level of pollution.

Day 5
Cultural approach of globalization: movies, books, television, tourism and Internet make possible the spreading of ideas to all the parts of the world in a very short time.

Summarise
By adopting the aforementioned schedule, the event might be quite memorable.

Happiness is a state of mind!

Although every person on this planet has its own goals in life, we all have a common goal and that achieving happiness. But that is a little bit more difficult then it seems, because happiness is not just a state of being, it is a state of mind. It is the ability of taking what life gives you and personalize it in a way that benefits you.

There is no guide or rule for how to live a happy life, but there are some tips and advices that could teach you how to approach certain situations in order to gain the best results.

1.Happiness comes from inside

The first step to achieve happiness is to realize from where it comes. Most people think that happiness is caused by what is around them, but this is not true. Yes, one must surround himself with people that he loves and that love him back, because those people give you positive energies, which in time will help with reaching your happiness. So another step that one should make in order to achieve happiness is eliminating the people who give you negative energies. Once you’ve managed to that, you are going to be a step closer to reach your happiness.

2.Be happy and cheerful in any situation

You, and only you, are in control of your happiness and when you choose to expand your mind and to focus on the good, you will be happier. It is different for everyone, but once you stop looking for excuses as to why you cannot be happy, you will find so many reasons as to why you can. People make these justifications to prevent themselves from achieving greatness. This is a horrible mistake to make in life because all you are doing is sabotaging yourself.

3.Enjoy the moment

Focusing on the present moment is crucial; if you spend your time wallowing in the past or worrying about the future, you are only going to stress yourself out. Actively engage yourself in what you are currently doing and immerse yourself fully. Appreciate the fact that you are able to do whatever it is you are doing and realize how fortunate you are in shaping your own life. So you should embrace the journey and the lessons that come with it.

Reaching for happiness is an entire journey that should never stop in one’s life, because happiness is just a by-product of living a loving, meaningful life.

Studying abroad

When people's standard of living increase, they often think about improving their knowledge for a better life.To do that, they choose to study in developed contries where they can get progressive education. However, everything has its advantages and disadvantages,so studying abroad is not an exeptation.

Studying abroad is the best way to improve ourselve. As you know, there are obvious advantages to study abroad. By choosing to go and study in another country, one chooses to go out of his comfort zone and try something new, leaving all the habits behind.

First of all, studying abroad requires good communication skills and knowing, at least, one foreign language perfectly, so that you could be able to interact with people arround you, but also for understanding what the teachers there explain. At the same time, choosing to go and study in another country one has the opportunity to see different cultures. Once you meet new people, coming from different parts of the world, you find out more about their coultures and their habits.

Secondly, it is my ferm belief that going to study in another country you get so many different opportunities at education. By enrolling in a study abroad program, you’ll have the chance to see a side of your major that you may not have been exposed to at home. And you also get the best education possibly, since you are going to cchoose the caountry and the college, wich fits best you needs.

On the other hand, many students would opt for going abroad, but they are affraid about how are they going to manage with the money, seeing this option a very expensive one. But it is not like that. Every college has a certain number of scolarships dedicated to students coming from athor countries. Also, all colleges have their campus, where students could stay. So the only thing students should pay for is their own needs, which they already pay for here.

All in all, I definitely feel like students who think that they don not have a properly good future in there native country, should opt to study abroad, where they could find something good enough for them.

The ideal workplace

Introduction

Nowadays a lot of people find it hard to get used to their workplaces. That is why they start disliking and even complaining about them. We were asked to write a proposal for an ideal workplace, which would appeal to everybody's taste. We conducted a survey in our class.

Background Information

Obviously, everybody has a different preference for their desired workplace. Taking the results of our research into account, we can conclude that some people like working alone, without their colleagues interfering, others prefer a quite place to work in, and for those even the phone calling represents a problem. Some are worried about how strict the schedule could be and others need specific impulses for getting the work done.

Suggestions

The ideal workplace should meet the following criteria:

  1. 1. It should be light and large so as not to be an obstacle for all the employees who suffer from claustrophobia.
  2. 2. There should exist quite rooms for those who need peace in order to work, but also rooms where people could talk and share their idea.
  3. 3. There should be a possibility for everyone to make their own choice between working alone or in a team.
  4. 4. There should exist a kitchen in the building, so that any employee could eat when they need.
  5. 5. One of the most essential suggestions appeared to be the increase in number of breaks. Thus the level of stress would be reduced.
  6. 6.

Conclusion

By implementing these recommendations, we could significantly improve our work environment

World Awareness Day

Introduction

The aim of this report is to take into consideration the suggestions made by students for the World Awareness Day in the school and make recommendations for what should be included in that day.

Survey results:

The suggestions were collected from approximately 80% of the students via a questionnaire. Some of them felt sceptical of the day, saying it was a waste of time and suggesting playing sports games instead. On the other hand, there were a lot of students who gave very useful ideas for making the day interesting and funny. Suggestions were divided into two categories – recommendation for the day and ideas for the school, which will have an effect in the long term. The former included the following ideas:

  • giving lectures that will inform the students about the life of the endangered animals, some of which can be sponsored
  • making a healthy lunch menu including fruit , bread and no meat
  • inviting student from other schools so that the message could be spread wider

Ideas for improvement of the school in general included:

  • fines for litter not thrown away in bins and using the money to renovate the school
  • a clean up of the school, which will make students aware of the amount of rubbish around it

Recommendations:

The proposed timetable for the day has two slots for activities. Recommendations for using the allocated times are:

  • From 9 A.m. to 10 am – lessons
  • From 10 am to 12 pm – educational activities
  • From 12 am to 1:00 pm – healthy lunch
  • From 1pm to 4 pm – activities again

Conclusion:

In my opinion, the suggestions given for the day are very useful and will not have an effect on that particular day only, but in the long – term, too.

Computer games – a complete waste of time and money?

Nowadays, computer games are rapidly taking over the world. With just a few clicks on one’s computer, the individual can easily access a large variety of online games and be able to stay hooked to a game for hours on ends, ignoring everything around. With the help of phones and tablets, massive number video games can simply be downloaded on the device and be played anywhere.

Being engrossed in a computer game is a double edged sword. On one side are the parents, that think video games are just a waste of time and money and on the other side are the children that see computer gaming as a lifestyle.

While parents see games as a harmful thing for the young ones (which, in certain circumstances, it really is), many scientific studies have shown that certain aspects of video games can be beneficial for children. These studies mostly discuss the mental skills associated with playing video games, such as the ability to follow instructions, spatial motor skills and hand-eye coordination. A more recent study even found that video gaming stimulates neurogenesis (growth of new neurons) and connectivity in the brain regions responsible for memory formation and strategic planning. After the subjects undertook an MRI test, it was shown that the video gaming group showed increases of gray matter as compared to the other group. However, these studies don’t relate also to the fact that while children are playing computer games for hours and hours, there are also negative effects.

Those negative effects range from personal, family, academic, financial and up to work related problems. When an individual spends a lot of time playing a certain game, becoming thereby addicted to it, certain parts of his brain are being activated, same parts that are activated by the consume of alcohol and drugs.

To sum it up, computer games aren’t actually a complete waste of time and money, them being even useful as long as the person doesn’t make an addiction out of it.

2. Proposal

Introduction
The purpose of this proposal is to suggest ideas of improving the workplace of the future.

Background information
Nowadays, more and more people are starting to work in huge companies all over the world. All of these companies provide their employees a certain space in massive skyscrapers filled with thousands of others persons. Though it may seem like a good and economic idea, giving a grown up person only a few square meters to operate, it really isn’t. Moreover, even those few meters are more than often deprived of natural light and fresh air. The general noise is also a big problem as every individual minds its own business, one talking on the phone, other two talking to each other and so on. Therefore a general buzz is created which makes it hard to concentrate. On a long term, these kinds of offices aren’t good for employees or for employers.

Suggestions
The ideal workplace should have the following features:
  1. Personal phones should be turned off or at least kept on mute.
  2. The place should be spacious and well lit.
  3. The employees should be able to choose when to have their breaks.

Conclusion
By implementing these recommendations, the work environment could be significantly improved.

3. For and against essay

Studying abroad

Nowadays, more and more young people can get higher education in a foreign country. There are a number of good as well as bad points when studying abroad.

First of all, the main disadvantage is having to live away for your family and friends for an extended period of time. It’s hard for a person that has stayed for about eighteen or nineteen years in one place, near the family and had the same friends for years and years, to move to another country. Therefore, loneliness and nostalgia may occur.

Secondly, another disadvantage is that the tuition fee is usually more expensive than at home. Moreover, the young people need to find a place to live in and have to pay for it during their education process.

One of the good points of getting an education abroad is the fact that the individual has to study a totally new language and culture in order to blend in. As a result, they can compare their own culture with the other one and therefore think more globally.

To sum it up, studying abroad can help the exchange of knowledge and the progress in our civilization.

Happiness is a state of mind!

The common goal everyone hopes to achieve during his or her lifetime is happiness. Well, this is not only a state of being, it is a mentality. You have to take in consideration all the things which life has given you and to transform it in a way that benefits you.

1. Happiness comes from inside

2. Reduce the negativity
Moreover, try to eliminate anything that brings negativity into your life, I’m talking about people mostly. If you take care of not upsetting someone that holds you down, of not being your true self around them for the fear of not causing drama, just cut out that person out of your life. Be around joyful friends that celebrate you and support you in any situation.

3. Adapt your mentality
We all want to achieve happiness. But this is a trick situation because happiness isn’t just a simple feeling. It is the result of living a positive life.

PROPOSAL

Ideal workplace of the future

Introduction
This proposal is intended to outline common issues workers have at their workplace and suggest ideas for designing the ideal environment for a prosperous activity. The final section makes recommendations about what should be taken into consideration when building such a place.

The current situation
It is a well-known fact that people dislike excessive noise, especially when they are working in an office, where they should be able to communicate without interruptions. That is why some prefer working in a quiet place. On contrary, other people enjoy being in the presence of others, since the idea of being part of a team motivates them.

Additionally, some believe that offices can be too small, which makes them feel shut in, whereas others might get concerned by the notion of lunch breaks.

Suggestions
The ideal workplace should have the following features:
1. Personal phones should be turned off or at least kept on mute.
2. The place should be spacious and well lit.
3. The employees should be able to choose when to have their breaks.
Conclusion
By implementing these recommendations, we could significantly improve our work environment

FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY

School uniforms

Students and even most parents don’t agree with the enforcement with school uniforms; stating that uniforms take away the right of self-expression. Students treat school as a fashion show, so eliminating that puts the students’ full focus on schoolwork. Although requiring students to wear school uniforms may violate their self-expression in some ways, a uniform are supposed to be looked upon as a positive thing, because they eliminate bullying, combine social classes and gives the school campus a professional look.
The most common argument against school uniforms is that they take away
the students right to self- expression. Yes, school uniforms limit what the
students have to wear, but he/she can still have their own ways of
self-expression. Students can still express their style of choice by the way he/she styles their hair and what accessories they choose to wear. Their shoe choice is also a form of self-expression. Students can make the uniforms their own style without breaking the dress code. Just because a student can’t wear the most fashionable jeans to school doesn’t mean that his/her rights are taken away. School is a place to learn. Outside of school, kids can wear and express themselves anyway they please.
Requiring school uniforms eliminates the chances of bullying. Bullies usually pick on kids based on what they wear. What happens when they are wearing the same thing? Everyone will be dressed the same, leaving less room to get picked on. When people all look the same, there is really nothing for other kids to point out and make fun of. Uniforms provide a more bully- free environment for the students.
Overall, school uniforms are a great thing to have. Even though this argument whether or not school uniforms violates the student's right to self- expression will be never ending. There seems to be more positive outlooks than negative on schools that require school uniforms. Having school uniforms be required for the students to wear gets rid of the bullies who pick on other students based on what they are wearing. Uniforms eliminate the separation of social classes, especially when that is mainly determined by what brands of clothing a person wears. Last but not least, school districts that require their students to wear school uniform have more of a formal look to the school. School uniforms are a positive thing, because they take away bullying opportunities, judging of social class and make the school look more professional.

LOSPA SOFIA

1. Article- Are computer games a complete waste of time and money?
Computer games are a way to relax and entertain yourself when you’re stressed or bored but the influence they have on people is perceived as negative and they are frowned upon by parents and teachers as time-wasters.
Over the last decade, many scientists and psychologists have shown that video games can have positive effects on people, such as improved cognitive abilities, hand-eye coordination and boosted creativity. In fact, the skills needed to succeed in gaming can often help young people to be more sociable and develop strategic thinking.
Games specifically designed to address a specific problem or teach a specific skill have been very successful, because they are motivating, engaging, interactive, and provide rewards and reinforcement to improve. Action video games, for example, like adventure games or shooters can improve agility and visual attention, because you need to develop your ability to focus if you want to succeed at the game.
There are also games full of patterns and puzzles, that can help children solve problems quickly and improve productivity. Identifying those patterns is often a key to success. Gamers turned out to be better at generalizing their learning across domains, meaning that if they demonstrated their ability at pattern detection on a visual task, they were better at using it on a separate auditory task.
In conclusion, video games have great educational potential in addition to their entertainment value, and they are not a waste of money and time, unless they become addictive.
2. Proposal- Ideal workplace

Introduction

Our work environment is a big part of our work and it can influence our productivity a lot. We decided to create an online survey so that everyone can describe their ideal workplace.

Our survey results:

We found out that there are different types of workers. Some of them preffer teamwork, some of them like working alone, in a quiet place. Some can’t stand the noise, because they are not able to concentrate, and other workers feel claustrophobic, because of the small space.

Recommendations:

· There should be enough light and there should be enough space between co-workers.
· All phones should be on silent, to not disturb the others.
· There should be flexible work hours.
· Workers should be able to take a break whenever they’re feeling stressed or unproductive.

Conclusion:
If these suggestions are taken in consideration, we could improve our workplace and also our work.
3. For and Against Essay- School Uniforms
The topic of school uniforms has been debated for some time. Some say they’re really good because they make all students equal and some say they can’t express themselves when they’re wearing them.
First of all, they create equality among students, reducing bullying. However, wearing school uniforms does not eliminate it entirely. There are families that can’t afford buying them, making them a. Bullies can still pick on other kids, based on their shoes or accessories. Some students say they take away their right to self-expression, but that’s not entirely true because there are other ways to express yourself and show your personality.
Although wearing a school uniform make students seem disciplined, feel proud of their school and make them more equal, it doesn’t improve school attendance and results. They can also alter students’ self-image because they are not allowed to wear clothes appropriate for their body, they can make them feel uncomfortable.
In conclusion, school uniforms shouldn’t be necessary, but there should be a dress code chosen by every school.
4. Report
The aim of this report is to present the suggestions our students made for the special event called World Awarness Day, which will take place in our school.
Survey results:
There were two types of students. Some of them did not agree with the event, saying that we should have a sports day instead, and the others were excited and came up with useful ideas.
Recommendations:
Most students said that they would like to spend the day watching films about endangered animals or attentding to lectures about major current environmental. Others came up with the idea of sponsoring an animal or having a special, healthy lunch. Almost all of them asked if they could bring some friends, saying that it would be great if the message will spread.

The proposed timetable for the event:

10:30 am to 12:00 am – lectures
12:00 am to 1:30 pm – other activities
1:30 pm to 3:00 pm –lunch
3:15 pm to 6:30 pm – films

Article
Computer games have become very popular nowadays. Some people consider them a good way to relax and being harmless, while others think they put children’s health at risk and are seen as a total waste of time and money. What is the truth from all of this?
Scientists say youngsters who play endless computer games could be stunting their brain development and risk becoming more violent. And it is true, up to some point. There are many video games which are linked to aggression, most of them being accepted by the public. The problem begins when children spend too much time with them or don’t have the required age to play. That’s why it is the parents’ responsibility to take control of this situation.
Despite all the bad facts surrounding the computer games area, there are also good ones. It has been demonstrated that playing such games can have positive impacts on the ones playing it, such as improving vision, teaching history, helping ease the pain or even slow the aging process. All of these have fascinated the scientists and gave them a more positive view regarding the computer games industry.
So what do you think? Are computer games a waste of time and money or some entertaining activity people just get more familiar with?

Proposal
Introduction
Many people encounter problems with their workplace. We were asked to write a proposal for bringing suggestions of the ideal workplace, after undertaking research through a survey.

Background information
Without any doubt, what people are most troubled about at work is noise. Speaking too loud or on the phone on the time may perturb the working process, resulting in an unhappy job experience. Also, the lack of modern equipment is what most people seemed unpleased about, having to work on old computers with outdated operating systems.

Suggestions for the ideal workplace of the future
  • There should be more investment in modern equipment for more productivity.
  • The room should be light and airy, with functional air conditioning. Nevertheless, someone to keep the workplace clean at all times.
  • The location of the workplace should be situated in a popular area, if possible, so that people would be able to get easily at work, whether they have a personal car or not.

Conclusion
The ideal workplace could be achieved very easily if the suggestions mentioned above are followed.

For and against essay
Studying abroad seems more and more popular in today’s society. Some think is a good thing, while others think the opposite. Taking this big step can have a great impact on your life, but it also has its disadvantages.
The main disadvantage of studying abroad is that you are on your own. You finally get to leave your home, but now the most of the support from your parents is gone. Of course, maybe financially not, but not having someone next to you help you get through though times can get you unmotivated. Another disadvantage is the price you’ll have to pay. Not only the funds required by the university, but also for a place to stay and the transport. Without a good financial base you won’t be able to support yourself.
The advantages on the other hand are plenty. The main one is that you get to see the world. After spending the most of your time in the same area, you get to see other places, with its own culture. Also, it gives you the opportunity to share your knowledge or learn new things from people from around the world. Nevertheless, your language skills will be definitely improved.
In my opinion, studying abroad can be a great experience, but you need to be extremely prepared for everything.

Report
Introduction
The purpose of this report is to assess the suggestions made by students for the World Awareness Day and make recommendation regarding the organization of the day in our school.

Survey results
Our questionnaires have been completed by most of the students of our school. Most of them supported the initiative, while others didn’t, preferring a football match instead. We were given both suggestions for the day as well as some to have an effect in the long term. The recommendations for the day included watching films about endangered animals as well as having a special lunch, including bread and fruit with no meat at all. Regarding the suggestions for the long term effects, students were interested in a sponsored clean-up for school, making people aware of the amount of rubbish around. Also, they supported the idea of sponsoring an endangered animal, such as a polar bear.

Recommendations
The proposed timetable has two slots for activities. Recommendations for using the allocated times are:
  • 9-10 – lessons
  • 10-12 –activities
  • 12-1 –lunch

Computer Games – A Complete Waste Of Time And Money?

Do you love computer games or hate them? Whatever your point of view, you are not alone! Such games tend to bring about extreme reactions in people, and there is little middle ground. Why is this? Let’s find out.

If you have never played them yourself, it is easy to think that computer games are a waste of money, mostly because this kind of hobby is more on the pricier side, and even a waste of time, considering that you need entire days to finish some of them. You have to buy all sorts of accessories and extensions for most of these video games and, in the end, after hours and hours spent playing, you don’t get any type of physical reward.

So why do people love video games so much?

A popular answer relies on the fact that computer games can become addictive. But the truth is a bit more complicated than that.

Video games are a fun way to spend your free time and they can even be good for you, if you play them responsibly, as in no more than 2-3 hours a day. They can improve your memory, your attention, your coordination and even your learning abilities. In addition, most games are based on the concept of puzzle solving, which is great exercise for your brain.

So, after all, I see no reason in hating video games, and if you are one of those who do hate them, why not try playing one first? You might end up liking it!

2. Proposal

The Ideal Workplace
Introduction

As we are going to be employees ourselves in the near future, we outlined in this proposal the features of the ideal workplace, according to our own preferences and to different online surveys.

Complaints

We found out that a large number of people disliked working in crowded places, preferring individual spaces, where they could keep their privacy, while others didn’t feel comfortable in closed, small places and wished they worked in open offices, even if that meant sharing their space with colleagues.
Another problem was the noise, especially that of phones ringing, which can be very irritating when heard constantly.
Another complaint was based on the timetable. The lunch break is at the same time every single day, and while that might be good for your productivity, it isn’t quite beneficial for employees, which might want to have their meals whenever they feel like it.

Suggestions

Some solutions for the problems mentioned earlier would be an open, light and bright working space, that also has individual desks, along with water, tea or coffee available at all times and a quiet environment, which involves having your phone on vibrate.

Conclusion

The workplace should be a friendly environment for the people working there. It should respect everyone’s personal preferences and their ideas of comfort.

3. For and Against Essay

Studying Abroad
Every year more and more students decide to leave their country to study abroad, leaving their families and friends behind, in favor of their education. The question remains if that is a smart decision or not.
The main advantage of choosing a foreign university is the fact that your country may not have the same high standards when it comes to education that some other countries do. This is the reason why many exceptional students leave their country to study in places like Cambridge or Harvard, which are known as the best in certain fields of study, which might not even exist in universities close to you.
However, going to study in places like these tends to cost you or your parents a significant amount of money, especially if you do not have a scholarship. Besides university fees, you have to pay for textbooks, rent, meals and other daily expenses, which is a problem for many future students, that will end up going to college somewhere else instead.
An additional disadvantage could be the fact that you leave behind your old live in order to complete your studies. When you are still in high school, you most likely live with your parents and even if you might take part in housework, like washing the dishes or cleaning your room, the transition to living alone will be harsh.
Although it might not be easy, living abroad can also help you be more open-minded. You will get to experience a completely different culture and see parts of the world you wouldn’t have seen otherwise.
All things considered, the obvious conclusion to be drawn is that choosing whether to study abroad or not is up to yourself, as you are the only one who can tell if you are ready for taking this huge step for your own education.

4. Report

World Awareness Day

The aim of this report is to examine the results of a survey in which students were asked about the best way to approach World Awareness Day and what activities should be included.
Survey Results
The majority of the people that have taken the survey have stated that they believed this event would be beneficial for the students and also for the school, as it would be great publicity. Only a small fraction of the students interviewed would have preferred the school not to run this event and organize a football match instead.
As for the activities, many have expressed their ideas. About 70% stated that they would like to watch documentaries about endangered animals, while the others decided they would like to participate in a sponsored cleanup of the school.
When it comes to permanent changes, a higher number of people wanted the school to introduce fines for litter or sponsor an endangered animal. Only few agreed to the idea of changing the lunch to a vegetarian option.
About 80% of the pupils interviewed wanted to bring friends from outside the school at the event, while the rest of them wanted to keep World Awareness Day private, only for the students.
Recommendations for the timetable
From the data that has been collected, it is clear that most students would like to spend the time between 10 and 12 watching films or listening to lectures about the subject of environmental issues, while, during the second part of the time allowed for activities, they would be interested in cleaning up the litter in the school yard, with the help of their teachers.
Conclusion
The results of this survey suggest that the majority of the students are willing to participate in World Awareness Day and that they would be more interested in daily activities, rather than changes with long term effects.

Article

Do you love computer games or hate them? Whatever your point of view, you are not alone! The fact that playing video games is a main leisure activity for the millennials makes it a controversial subject.

Sweet escape?
The world of video gaming has become a place where one can escape the boring reality, entering a „kingdom of fantasy”. Everyone wants to be somebody else at least once in a lifetime, and by gaming, many people do that. But even if it seems like a good way to escape the routine, this kind of activity has some effects that can change the mindset of a person. Gamers tend to become more introvert and lonely, viewing the virtual reality more and more as the place they would want to live and to be every moment.

How about health?
When one is constantly playing computer games they become increasingly sedentary and, as a consequence, they gain weight. Obesity is dramatically affecting Chile because people are not exercising and eating properly.

REALationships?
Humans are sociable beings, and it is a fundamental need for every individual to cultivate personal relationships. Depression has become one of the most spread problems in the world. Japan is one of the countries with the highest suicide rate. Unsurprinsingly, Japan has many gamers and people who spend a lot of time in the virtual reality.

As a conclusion, we can see that computer games have affected people’s lives. They are avoiding reality, falling into a sedentary lifestyle and, more importantly, they are not developing personal relationships, which in the near future could bring even more detrimental side effects.

Proposal

Ideal workplace of the future

Introduction
This proposal is intended to outline common issues workers have at their workplace and suggest ideas for designing the ideal environment for a prosperous activity.

The buzz of the office
A recent survey on the subject showed that people are easily distracted by other coworkers and cannot stand to work in a noisy environment, filled with ringing phones and personal discussions. Other problems cited included social pressure and fixed working program which does not fit everybody’s rhythm.

How an ideal workplace could look
A light and bright working place, with a large table in the center and other smaller working areas could help employees fulfill their target at maximum capacity.
To improve the time spent in the office, there should be water, coffee or tea provided to the workers.

Recommendations
I would like to make the following recommendations:
  • Provide workers with the opportunity of creating their own schedule, in order to work more effectively and without any concern.
  • Make the workers want to spend more time at the office if possible, by organizing events and workshops

If these points are respected, employees could work more efficient and have a more fullfilling time at the workplace.

For and against essay

The idea of school uniforms seems like an antiquated concept for many North Americans. Unless a child attends private school, it is not normally practiced by children and families. Yet around the world, wearing school uniforms is the norm. Students studying in schools requiring school uniforms generally perform very well academically and seem happy wearing the same outfit every day. There are many benefits to wearing school uniforms that schools in Canada and the United States should incorporate into their public schools.
One of the biggest concerns in schools these days is bullying. Students are harassed physically, verbally, and socially. The latest trend in bullying is cyberbullying. Often, the cause of bullying stems from people being different for not wearing the “right” clothes. If someone looks richer, most people feel like they have a higher social status or more power. To the contrary, uniforms allow children to learn on a more level playing field, with less judgment about clothing choices, brands of clothing, or physical appearance.
A lot of students who wear uniforms claim that they feel more proud of their school. Wearing school colors gives students a feeling of being more connected to their school and classmates. If there is a sense of community and connectedness among the students, the use of foul language, gang behavior, and crimes like vandalism are largely eliminated. Wearing school uniforms can also help people gain more self-confidence because they know they are a part of something bigger.
One of the main concerns people have about wearing school uniforms is conformity. People fear that by making children look the same, their individuality will be suppressed. However, this is not the case. Accessories, such as bracelets and hair clips, can jazz up a school uniform. Besides, students can wear their own clothing after school and during weekends. An individual’s personality is not wholly expressed by fashion alone. Personality is determined by the way a person moves, feels, thinks, and talks. Wearing a school uniform neither defines a child’s personality nor erases it.
There are even more advantages to wearing school uniforms in public schools in addition to those previously mentioned. It means lower costs for parents during back-to-school shopping. However, the idea that bullying might be alleviated is the leading reason why schools should implement the wearing of uniforms. The other is the fostering of school pride. Students will not lose their personality but will merely learn new ways to express themselves.

Report

Happiness is a state of mind!

How often do you have a bad day? How often do you wake up in the morning with no desire to get out of bed? Do you know why that happens and how to control it? If not, I hope my article will open your eyes a little bit.

From the inside, not outside

Happiness is a mentality. If you wake up feeling gloomy, just think about something that puts a smile on your face. However, take care! Don’t let other people influence your state of mind. Happiness should come from within, it should not be influenced by what’s happening around you, but rather what is inside you. Many people depend on others, when in fact you are the only one that controls your own feelings.

Cut back negativity

Moreover, try to eliminate anything that brings negativity into your life, I’m talking about people mostly. If you take care of not upsetting someone that holds you down, of not being your true self around them for the fear of not causing drama, just cut out that person out of your life. Be around joyful friends that celebrate you and support you in any situation.

Conclusion

Depend on yourself, not on others. Firstly, you need to be happy on your own. Only after that you can share your happiness with others.

3) FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY

SCHOOL UNIFORMS

School uniforms are a delicate subject. Should they be mandatory in all institutions or do they take back the students’ needs to express themselves?

First of all, some people don’t agree with them because they limit the self-expression of students. However, they don’t interfere with their studies, which is their reason of being in school in the first place. The uniforms protect students from bullies. They tend to make fun of the kids who dress in a weird way, but that can be stopped if everyone is wearing the exact same thing. Moreover, schools that demand a uniform look more formal and put together.

On the other hand, school uniforms restrict the teenagers’ freedom of expression. An average girl or boy wants to be able to wear their own clothes, express their own style. If they are forced to wear the same thing as everyone else, they might wear excessive makeup or accessories as a form of rebellion. Furthermore, school uniforms are renown for being pricey and not everyone can afford to pay money on something as posh as that.

In conclusion, every school institution should have the right of choosing whether they should implement uniforms, taking into consideration their students’ needs and financial situations.

I could have started with a generalization, but the fact is not all people want to be happy. There is comfort in sadness just as there is in spending a Saturday locked in your house watching 'Better call Saul' and denying that you have a problem. But what if you want to be happy?

We often face a certain error of judgement that has been propagated for decades around us, by all possible sources, ranging from close friends and family to teachers at school and the mass-media. Let's assume I thought happiness was big. A million dollar mansion? That super complicated job that I was going to hate but would have made me feel important among my peers? Yes, that would qualify as the ideal, the point where I go over the moon and start to sweat oxytocin for the rest of my earthly existence while my friends hate me for being more successful than them. Thankfully, that's not the case. But I wasn't happy anyway.

As we age, there are many processes from which we rarely emerge unchanged in terms of personality, mentality and other psychological traits. Looking back as the beautiful butterfly that I am now, I can definitely say that contentedness comes with a certain degree of maturity. For me it was independence. Independence to go home late, to study or not to study, to choose my own furniture and bed linens and to be my own being.

For you, a good starting point would be trying to figure out what you're lacking. It might be stability, it might be companionship or perhaps you just feel small. After identifying your need you can work out ways to improve your life in that sense.

However, for the materialists out there, I can assure you it's not a Lambo that will change things. It will, however, alleviate some discomfort.

2. PROPOSAL

Intro

The purpose of this proposal is to identify some means of imporving the results of our students on their foreign language exams.

Main Issues

The most prevalent issue was students' lack of diversified vocabulary and it was accompanied by a certain difficulty during their speaking and listening exams. Such challenges are linked to insufficient classes of vocabulary, listening and speaking while concentrating on other subjects mainly involving writing and grammar.

Recommendations

The main suggestions are: diversifying the curriculum so that it encompasses a wide range of topics which are to be discussed during classes, thus providing a chance for the improvement of students' skills in a more efficient and modern way, and promoting engagement in conversations in a foreign language by creating a book & film club.

Conclusion

The school has the means for these changes therefore we are looking forward to implementing them for the benefit of our students.

3. FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY ON

School uniforms

Whether uniforms should be implemented in schools or not has always been a topic for debates among all school communities, with arguments ranging from a definite yes to a certain no in different situations.

On the one hand, we need to think of uniforms from the perspective of their name, which shows their implied purpose: uniformization. Ideally, that would mean equality of treatment for all children regardless of their backgrounds and a similar development during their school year without any harmful and unwanted influences. They would promote normality (which some find to be a good thing) and the feeling of belonging, of being part of something bigger. They would also make differences between children such as their parents' wealth less of an issue among children.

On the other hand, the world will provide a wide range of extremely different influences that have a way of reaching a child no matter how he is dressed at school. They cannot be sheltered for reality. Many people feel that uniforms simply try to deny individuality to children which can potentially be traumatizing as we are deeply connected with our inner self and we want the world to see us as what we are, even from an early age.

In conclusion, I strongly believe that even with mandatory outfits for school being similar, diversity is impossible to coerce.

4. REPORT

To: Mr. Kelen, principal of The Ordinary School

Subject: World Awareness Day

Introduction

The purpose of this report is to summarize the results of our questionnaire and provide suggestions for the organization of World Awareness Day in our school.

Findings

The questionnaires had a wide range of responses of which most were positive and helpful for our purpose. The main favourite type of activities were those related to animals, such as raising awareness by watching films and documentaries, and the possibilty of animal sponsorship, a playful way of making a donation for wildlife across the globe. Another favourite was eco-friendly behaviour in school, either by cleaning it up or giving fines for non-ecological behaviour. Other suggestions were bringing family and friends from outside the school, in order to spread the message and having a sports day instead.

Timetable

9 am to 10 am – lessons

10 am to 12 pm – film

12 am to 1 pm – lunch time!

1 pm to 2 pm - 'adopt a penguin' sponsorship opportunity

2 pm to 4 pm - eco-friendly games and activities

Conclusions

The findings of this report and the suggestions regarding its organization should provide plenty of educational propositions in the likings of our students.

Happiness is a state of mind

What makes us happy? This is the most common question among young people these days and have had a great impact on us since many centuries ago.
I, personally, don’t think there is a perfect recipe for pure happiness and wellbeing, mainly because each one of us is different and has various life expectations.
In the following article I will try to summarize those moments in my life when I felt happy and I’ll show you my tips and tricks for a joyful living.

Achievements
We are in college: at this point of our lives, we try to figure out who we are and what career fits best to our principles and skills. In order to do that, we study hard and we are always eager to achieve new goals. For me, every accomplishment is a reason to celebrate and to feel fulfilled and happy. So you guys should set some goals, work hard to achieve them and great feelings will follow.

Focus on what’s within you
It is true that many of us tend to think that happiness should come from the outside, from the people we love. But, in fact, happiness come from within. You are the only one who can truly change your state of mind, by eliminating negative energies and focusing on the good.

It’s all about mentality
We all want to achieve happiness. But this is a trick situation because happiness isn’t just a simple feeling. It is the result of living a positive life.

Proposal

Ideal workplace of the future

Introduction
This proposal is intended to outline common issues workers have at their workplace and suggest ideas for designing the ideal environment for a prosperous activity. The final section makes recommendations about what should be taken into consideration when building such a place.

Problems with old, dull offices
A recent survey on the subject showed that people are easily distracted by other coworkers and cannot stand to work in a noisy environment, filled with ringing phones and personal discussions. Other problems cited included social pressure and fixed working program which does not fit everybody’s rhythm.

How an ideal workplace could look
A light and bright working place, with a large table in the center and other smaller working areas could help employees fulfill their target at maximum capacity.
To improve the whole atmosphere, a relaxing music could be playing in the background and mobile phones must be on vibrate.

Recommendations
I would like to make the following recommendations:
  • § Provide workers with the opportunity of creating their own schedule, in order to work more effectively and without any concern.
  • § Facilitate displays with the latest newspapers and other material that will keep the coworkers updated and also offer tea, coffee and water for everybody.
  • § Engage in transparent communications. Actively listen. Open conversations practices will help to reduce silos as the company grows.
If these recommendations are implemented, employees are bound to feel more prepared in their domain.

For and against essay

School uniforms

We often hear discussions about this controversial subject: school uniforms. Should them be obligatory in every school institution or they obstruct the teenager’s needs to express their individualism?

First of all, lack of clothing guidelines can led some students to dress in a way that compromises both safety and school’s reputation. Items of concern include ripped clothing, hoods that obscure the face, offensive T-shirts and very high platform heels. The image that we present to the community is important for a number of reasons, but primarily because overly casual dress makes it more difficult to place students in homestays and on work experience. It seems obvious that implementing a dress code will improve the institution's image and also attendance and discipline in students.
Moreover, school uniforms make getting ready for school easier, which can improve punctuality.

On the other hand, school uniforms restrict students' freedom of expression. Clothes are seen as a means of expression by youngsters who view the uniform policy as a hindrance. Another key objection is cost – a lot of people think uniforms are costly. In addition to this, not having uniforms creates an environment where pupils are comfortable in their own skin.

Taking everything into consideration, the best course of action would be to let every school institution the possibility to choose whether they should implement a dress code or not, according to their principles.

STANCA TUDOR

1. Article:

In this hustle and bustle of nowadays’ life computer games have become one of the most

developed industry in the IT field. In these days, it is almost impossible to find someone who

didn’t play at least once a virtual game, and this is the best scenario. A recent research, showed

the increasingly results of the number of youngsters that have become addicted to games in the

last ten years.

Firstly, I would like to put emphasis on the fact that the internet is the most important factor in

the increment of this kind of inside activity, due to all the propaganda spread in every nook of the

internet. In addition, in the last few years, online games have taken a huge impetus, owing to the

fact that in this way, people can play together, without being in the same room. Unfortunately,

this only encouraged the shy children to surround themselves with online “friends” and withdraw

them from the real world.

At the other end of the spectrum, it goes without saying that this kind of games also play a

beneficial role. As an example, the strategy games, involve using skills such as coordination or

strategy thinking. Some of them imply your history or geography knowledges, needless to say

that all this video games enrich your cognitive abilities.

To draw a conclusion, in order to make a difference between the addition and the help given by

video games, I tend to believe that everybody should moderate the time spend in front of the

computer, due to the fact that most of the time is wasted. There is also an old saying that goes

like: ”too much breaks the bag”, so it is something absolutely ordinary to relax for a few hours a

week playing this, but don’t make a habit from it.

To: John Doe, school principal at St. Peter college, Edinburgh;
From: Jimmy Hendrix, pupil at St. Peter college;
Subject: Activities for World Awareness Day;
Date: 21st of May, 2017;

1. Introduction:

The aim of this report is to compare and contrast the plan for the special event called World Awareness Day which is going to be held in our school and make recommendations for what should be included in that day.

2. Recommendations:

Most of the suggestions could easily be divided in a few big categories, which are written below:
• Lectures and movies or documentaries about endangered animal species, in order to increase the awareness and make people see the issues, make them understand the real situation of many rare and beautiful species all across the globe;
• A sponsored cleaning-up of the school, in order to make people see the actual amount of rubbish that remains at the end of a school day;
• Bringing family and friends from outside the school, in order to spread the message;

3. Conclusion:

Overall, the proposed activities will have a great effect on the long term and will raise awareness among adolescents and young people these days.

3. Proposal:

1.Introduction:
Many people encounter problems with their workplace. We were asked to write a proposal for bringing suggestions of the ideal workplace, after undertaking research through a survey.

2.Backgrond informations:

Without any doubt, what people are most troubled about at work is noise. Speaking too loud or on the phone on the time may perturb the working process, resulting in an unhappy job experience. Also, the lack of modern equipment is what most people seemed unpleased about, having to work on old computers with outdated operating systems.

3.Suggestions for the ideal workplace of the future:

  • There should be more investment in modern equipment for more productivity.
  • The room should be light and airy, with functional air conditioning. Nevertheless, someone to keep the workplace clean at all times.
  • The location of the workplace should be situated in a popular area, if possible, so that people would be able to get easily at work, whether they have a personal car or not.

4.Conclusion:

The ideal workplace could be achieved very easily if the suggestions mentioned above are followed.

4. For and Against Essay:

School Uniforms:

In our nowadays, always on the rush society, school uniforms have become a delicate subject. Should they be mandatory in all institutions or do they take back the students’ needs to express themselves?

Firstly, the idea of uniform in the schools of my country is something basic, or even nothing at all but the requirement to wear jeans with a white shirt.

Secondly, at the other end of the spectrum, they actually could be something very good.

In a nutshell, school uniforms would be a great opportunity to represent a school if it would be made well, rather than wearing something basic just to identify yourself as a student.

Friend or foe?

As part of the self-taught computer users of the current century, I have experienced the addictiveness that results from PC games. Hours and hours spent in front of my screen paired with an amplifying back pain have been the results of my attempts at being a gamer, but I can never say that I gave in to it.

But why are PC games so popular and why are they seen as a threat to the financial and cognitive status of the player? The answer is rather simple. This activity is time consuming and reaching a higher level and actually winning a game may take more than just a few days and often times the player chooses to play the certain game rather than doing other chores like homework or housework. Furthermore, a game doesn’t usually come by itself as additional expansion packs are being released without which you cannot continue your game or increase your level. So here comes the money consuming part. Investing in such a hobby is not at all cheap and may seem pointless to the majority of outsiders. But in fact, you can get a rather serious profit out of being a gamer. If you’re good enough, you can participate into international competitions and win big.

As surprising as it may seem, computer games can actually enhance the mind, as most games require a certain strategy to play and a certain skill. So why not give it a shot? If they’re played responsibly, games can actually be a very helpful past-time.

PROPOSAL

In this proposal I will describe the results of a survey conducted by my class regarding the results obtained in foreign language exams and the best ways to improve them.

Feedback from students suggests that low results in foreign language exams are mostly influenced by two main factors. The first one is the emotional side. Most students don’t have the capacity to pull themselves together and concentrate on the given task and not its eventual outcome. Moreover, most of the students seem to have issues with the speaking and writing parts of the test. They are required to improvise in a limited amount of time and the outcome may not be excellent.

I recommend that a lot of extra practices are organized so that nerves won’t be a problem on the actual test day. Moreover, I believe additional courses should be added especially for tasks where students feel unprepared in. For example, there should be more emphasis put on the speaking section and a lot of reading for the writing one. If these suggestions are followed, then the situation will be greatly improved.

FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY

School uniforms are becoming a popular trend amongst schools. Students and even most parents don’t agree with the enforcement with school uniforms; stating that uniforms take away the right of self-expression. School uniforms are not a negative thing to have. Yes, uniforms limit what the students have to choose to wear to school every day, but it doesn’t limit them from learning; the only reason they are in school. Student treat school as a fashion show, so eliminating that puts the students’ full focus on schoolwork. Although requiring students to wear school uniforms may violate their self-expression in some ways, a uniform are supposed to be looked upon as a positive thing, because they eliminate bullying, combine social classes and gives the school campus a professional look. The most common argument against school uniforms is that they take away the students right to self- expression. Yes, school uniforms limit what thestudents have to wear, but he/she can still have their own ways ofself-expression. Students canstill express their style of choice by the way he/she styles their hair and what accessories they choose to wear. Their shoe choice is also a form ofself-expression. Students can make the uniforms their own style without breakingthe dress code. Just because a student can’t wear the most fashionable jeans toschool doesn’t mean that his/her rights are taken away. School is a place tolearn. Outside of school, kids can wear and express themselves any way theyplease. Overall, school uniforms are a great thing to have. Even though thisargument whether or not school uniforms violates the students right to self-expression will be never ending. There seems to be more positive outlooks thannegative on schools that require school uniforms. Having school uniforms berequired for the students to wear gets rid of the bullies who pick on other students based on what they are wearing.

Computer games-a complete waste of time and money?

Have you ever taught how so many children in this time and age spend their free time? Well let me give you a hint: you don't need to have a lot of space for it, you can use it anytime and it's quite addictive. Did you get it? It's video games!

Video games had become a really import part of ones entertainment. More and more kids and even adults spend their relaxing time while playing games. Why? Because it's fun.

Originally people used to play single player games witch many of us still do. Many single player games usually have a greater story than other games because it tends to bond a sentimental value between you and the characters. And many of these games don't have the intention of letting you go after you finish the game. They always develop a DLC which real passionate fans will buy without fail.

Even if you don't like playing games for stories there doesn't mean that you won't try at least an online game. Over the years online games had become even an international event, cuz more and more people play them and everyone tries to be the best at them. Usually online games are free but that doesn't mean that the game company won't have an income. If you want to show how fancy you are there is always the possibility of buying skin for you characters however that will require money.

So in conclusion I believe that video games are a great way to make money however it's not as simple as it seems. People like to try new thing, things that have never been seen before so inventing a new awesome game can be hard, but the reward is pretty huge when it comes to income.

PROPOSAL:

Introduction:

Many people have a hard time adapting to a new job and its environment. For some it has become such a huge issue that they even refuse to leave their current job, even if they hate it, because they fear they won't like the new place. But, I don't think that's the way we should perceive work! It should be something entertaining, something that makes you proud of who you are as a worker and a person!

Background information:

Even since the beginning job were a necessity and without them we can't have a united and equal system. However, along those years, jobs started to look more and more as an obligation rather than a way to show how good you are in a specific domain. Why is that? Because good jobs don't really hire smart and professional people, but they use nepotism, and so people started to believe that even if they are really good at something it'll mean nothing in comparison with somebody's child. Nonetheless, I don't believe that all talented people will remain in the shadows.

Suggestion for the ideal workplace in the future:

It's hard to say what will make a job more interesting, but I think the adrenaline we have when we compete with one another is one of those things that can keep us going and make us evolve us a specie. In that way not only will we perceive working different but jobs will become better and better and we will achieve higher income.

Conclusion:

The ideal workplace in my mind is a right one in which everyone has an equal chance of reaching the top making it thrilling to work there.

FOR AND AGAINST ESSAY ON SCHOOL UNIFORM:

Even since the beginning this has become one of the most controversial problems around the world: should we or should we not force our children to wear school uniforms?

First, I believe that every person should have a free way of expressing their feelings and creativity. I don't really believe a school uniform would stop us from expressing these strong emotions but it'll sure limit our horizons. It's hard to modify something that you need to keep as formal as possible so I'll really make us all the same.

Second, a school uniform usually requires money from the family that will go to the school's founds. However not everybody can buy a school uniform so the prices should be low, but at the same time not everyone would like to have a uniform made by cheap materials. And I'll take quite some time for the uniform to arrive as well.

On the other hand, I think students shouldn't be allowed to wear whatever they like: there should be a code they need to follow such as not pants too short, no tank tops and other similar things that will make others uncomfortable to watch.

In conclusion, in my opinion schools should not be really strict when it comes to clothes but at the same time be firm in what is allowed and what is considered to be inappropriate.

REPORT:

This report will assess suggestions made by students for a World Awareness Day in the school, and make recommendations for what we should have in the program.

Survey results:

Suggestions were collected from questions completed by our students. Most were happy with this special day while others wanted to have more fun by playing sports such as football. A big range of the suggestions asked for sponsors while others gave opinions on how we should organize our event.

Recommendations for the day:

It is believed that it'll be better for the school if we have a sponsor that way we can clean easier and we can also show a real important thing to the world such as an endangered species of animals or birds. We can present films about this animal/bird and show the world how beautiful and important is this creature for our ecosystem. We can also eliminate meat for the day so we can really enter this bio world. And we should allow everyone to come even if they are not from our school. At the end of the day we can have a football game and the winning team can make a small commercial about how we should protect the earth.

Conclusion:

I believe that if we follow the ideas brought to us by our students this event will have a huge success.
